Our view
Why we like the fund:
This fund invests in companies across Europe (excluding the UK) which the fund managers believe offer attractive growth potential at a reasonable price. The focus is on medium and smaller companies, where they believe the most attractive growth opportunities lie. The fund is managed by one of the most experienced teams in the sector and they have worked together for a long time. They carry out detailed company research, which is particularly important when investing in smaller companies.
How to use the fund:
This fund is likely to require a long investment horizon of ten years or more. This should allow investors to benefit from the rewards that should come from an above-average-risk investment. This fund and Schroder European Recovery should blend well because they invest using quite different approaches.
