Investment objective
The Fund aims to provide a monthly income with prospects for capital growth over the long term. It looks to provide an income yield higher than the FTSE All-Share Index over rolling 3-year periods, after the deduction of charges. The Fund is actively managed, and invests in a combination of company shares and bonds; typically, between 70-80% in UK company shares and 20%-30% in bonds. The Fund considers UK companies to mean companies listed on the London Stock Exchange; predominantly those domiciled in the UK, or which have significant UK business operations.

Alasdair Ross is Head of Investment Grade Credit, EMEA, with responsibility for our UK and European investment grade corporate credit teams based in London. Alasdair is lead portfolio manager across various global, euro and UK corporate credit portfolios including Threadneedle (Lux) Global Corporate Bond Fund, CT European Corporate Bond Fund, CT UK Corporate Bond Fund and is also deputy portfolio manager on Threadneedle (Lux) Credit Opportunities. Alasdair’s investment background is as a fundamental, bottom-up, investment grade credit analyst. Between joining the company in 2003 and becoming a portfolio manager in 2007, he had responsibility for covering the TMT, utility and energy sectors, as well as the sterling whole business securitisation sector. Prior to joining the company, Alasdair worked at BP plc in a rotation of commercial roles. Alasdair has a first class honours degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from the University of Oxford.He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Dominic Younger is a portfolio analyst within the UK Equities team. Dominic joined Columbia Threadneedle in 2013. He works most closely with the UK Equity Income strategy and is deputy portfolio manager of the CT UK Monthly Income Fund, in addition to several institutional portfolios. He also has research responsibility for the industrials, food retail and paper & packaging sectors. He previously worked in the client portfolio management function on the desk. Prior to joining the UK Equities team at the start of 2017, Dominic worked in the institutional client group. Dominic holds a BA (Hons) in History from Newcastle University. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation as well as the Investment Management Certificate.
