Fund manager biography
Ed Long joined AEW in 2015 and is a Director in the Investment team at AEW, and the Investment Manager’s Portfolio Manager for Home REIT PLC. Ed has transacted over 200 UK properties worth over £1bn for AEW funds and separate accounts and has a wealth of experience of executing direct investments and sales on turnaround portfolios and sell down mandates to achieve the targets set by the clients. Ed, through AEW’s Real Return Fund, has led AEW’s investment into social needs based residential accommodation including; supported living, specialist supported living, T&E and key worker accommodation. Ed has also led AEW’s approach to Place-based Impact Investing in the UK. Before joining AEW, Ed worked in the National Investment department at Gerald Eve, specialising in the acquisition and disposal of commercial properties across the UK. Ed provided support to a wide range of clients including UK funds and institutions, property companies and developers. He is a qualified Chartered Surveyor (MRICS) and a holds a BSc in Real Estate Investment & Finance from the University of Reading.
