An extra helping hand

We’re here to support you. If you’ve got questions about how your current situation relates to your Fidelity account, don’t hesitate to contact the team. There are also plenty of other organisations who are ready and willing to help if you’re feeling vulnerable. Here are some useful contacts.

Age related concerns

These charities are dedicated to lending a helping hand to those later on in life.

  • Age UK - provides help to older people (generally 60+) with money and legal queries, health and wellbeing support, care needs and work and learning help.
  • Independent Age - lends support and advice on issues to older people and their families with money and benefits, health and mobility support.
  • The Silver Line - provides a free and confidential helpline for those aged 55 and over experiencing feelings of loneliness and isolation.

Bereavement

We have bereavement charity CRUSE trained staff members on hand to support you and you can find out about Fidelity’s bereavement process here. These charities offer additional specialist support.

  • CRUSE - offers emotional and practical support to those experiencing a bereavement.
  • Child Bereavement UK - supports families grieving the death of a child or children and young people (up to the age of 25) grieving someone close.
  • The Good Grief Trust - helps those who need ongoing bereavement support.

Cancer

These charities are dedicated to supporting those living with cancer and their families.

  • Macmillan Cancer Support  - provides emotional, practical physical and financial support and services for those living with cancer at every stage.
  • Maggie’s - supports those who are finding their way to live with cancer.
  • Working with Cancer - helps individuals and employers, who may be returning or have employees returning to work during or post cancer treatment.
  • Children’s Cancer and Leukaemia Group - brings together childhood cancer professionals to ensure the best possible treatment and care for all children, teenagers and young adults.

Carers

These charities offer family members and friends caring for their loved ones.

  • Carers UK - provides carers with emotional, mental wellbeing and practical support about their rights and what’s available to them.
  • Carers Trust - recognises carers need to feel heard, valued and supported as well as have advice and resources to live their own lives while caring for someone else.

Dementia and Alzheimer’s

If you’d like to apply a Lasting Power of Attorney to your account, please contact us. These charities offer specialist support.

  • Dementia UK - provides specialist dementia and Alzheimer’s nurse support - Admiral Nurses - across the UK.
  • Alzheimer’s Society - gives people living with dementia the support that they deserve.

Our lives have moved increasingly online, making those who lack the skills feel vulnerable. We’ve partnered with Ability Net to help.

  • Ability Net - helps individuals with any disability, of any age, to use all kinds of digital technology.

Domestic abuse

If you’re going through domestic abuse, our team are trained to help with any account-related queries so please call us. For specialist enquiries, one of the below confidential support options may help.

  • Refuge - helps survivors overcome physical, emotional financial and logistical impacts of abuse and rebuild their lives.
  • Solace - supports women and children in London to build safe and strong lives, free from male abuse and violence.
  • Women’s Aid - works to improve society’s response to domestic abuse to ensure that every survivor gets the support they need.
  • Men’s Advice Line - looks to increase the safety of men experiencing domestic abuse (and the safety of any children) by providing confidential support.
  • Mankind - helps men escape domestic abuse with support from their confidential helpline.

With costs rising, some may be experiencing financial difficulties. The organisations below may be able to help.  For any account related queries, please contact us.

  • Money Helper -   aims to put people back in financial control, with free, impartial help that’s quick to find, easy to use and backed by government. 
  • Step Change - helps thousands each year deal with their debt problems.
  • Turn2us - provides practical help to people who are struggling financially.
  • Citizens Advice - provides people with the knowledge and confidence they need to find their way forward - which includes guidance around debt and money.

If your mental health affects tasks like filling out forms, our specially trained team can help. Here are some charities for more specialist support. 

  • Mind - provides advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. 
  • Mental Health Foundation - supports people with their mental health problems.

Physical health with disabilities

We can provide alternative formatted communications or help people fill out forms if they need additional support, so please contact us. These charities provide support with day-to-day living.

Suicide

It’s ok not to be ok - but if you’re experiencing suicidal thoughts and feelings, please seek help.

  • Samaritans - provides a helpline to anyone who’s struggling to cope and needs someone to listen without judgement or pressure.
  • Papyrus - aims to prevent suicide and promotes positive mental heal and emotional wellbeing in young people.
  • National Suicide Prevention Helpline - aims to get all parts of society working together to take action to reduce suicide and improve the support for those bereaved by suicide.
