Friday preview: US producer prices, Ashmore Group in focus

(Sharecast News) - Inflation will continue to be in focus on either side of the Pond at the end of the week. In the US, at 1230 BST the Department of Labor will publish producer price figures for the month of June.

Also with the potential to move financial markets, at 1400 BST the University of Michigan will release the preliminary results of its consumer confidence survey for July.

In Europe meanwhile, French and Spanish consumer price data for June are due out at 0645 BST and 0700 BST, respectively.

Against that backdrop, overnight China's customs administration will release foreign trade numbers for the month of June.

In Japan, industrial production figures for May will be published.

In the corporate space, Ashmore Group was to update investors on its assets under management during the fourth quarter.

UBS analyst Michael Werner was expecting the emerging markets-focused fund manager to report a $1.4bn net outflow for AuM of $50.5bn at period end.

Market performance was expected to have added $0.1bn.

If correct, that would mark the 12th consecutive quarter of outflows, although on average those had been to the tune of $2.4bn each.

The analyst further noted how the shares were trading on 15 times their estimated forwards earnings, which was in line with its historical average and implied that inflows would resume in the back half of the 2025 calendar year.
