Itaconix launches two new ingredients

(Sharecast News) - Plant-based polymer specialist Itaconix announced two new ingredients on Monday, designed to enhance the performance of household detergent formulations. The AIM-traded firm said the first of the innovations, 'Itaconix TSI 422', was the latest advancement in its line of multi-functional ingredients tailored to address the challenges posed by hard water in detergent and industrial applications.

Building on the success of the TSI 322, it said TSI 422 offered enhanced performance, particularly in dishwashing detergents.

Key benefits included improved scale inhibition and more efficient dosing, while maintaining a high plant-based content.

The second product, 'Itaconix ONZ 405', introduced a powdered version of Itaconix's liquid plant-based ingredients.

It said ONZ 405 delivers rapid odour neutralisation and scale inhibition, expanding the potential for new performance claims in essential consumer product categories such as powder laundry additives and plastic-free detergent concentrates.

"Itaconix ingredients are enabling new generations of safer consumer products with new performance, better cost efficacy, and increased sustainability," said chief executive officer John Shaw.

"Our new products show our commitment to delivering continuous innovation that benefits everyday products, consumers, and the environment."

At 0921 BST, shares in Itaconix were up 7.84% at 165p.
